A Main Unit and Your Choice of Transmitters
The basic SOSSignal system consists of a base unit, which connects to the telephone line much like an answering machine, and the waterproof personal transmitter, which is available in your choice of a pendant worn around the neck or a wrist-band model. New from SOSSignal is the FALL ALERT fall detection device, which not only detects and signals falls in the home, but also includes a help button that may be pushed for assistance.
A push of the button on either the main unit or the transmitter sends help immediately. Normal telephone access is not limited by the main unit; however, in an alarm situation, the unit seizes control of the phone line in order to communicate with the Monitoring Center. Also, SOSSignal units have the ability to dial multiple long-distance numbers to our Monitoring Centers. More than one long-distance carrier is used to ensure that if one has operational difficulties, the other can be accessed by the unit with no disruption of service to the subscriber.
Battery Backup
The SOSSignal main unit has a rechargeable backup battery to operate the unit during a power failure. The pendant battery has a five-year battery, and is replaced when necessary. Should you have any problems with your SOSSignal equipment, it will be repaired or replaced at no charge.
Monthly Testing by Monitoring Centers
SOSSignal units are fully tested during installation. In addition, the Monitoring Center interacts with each subscriber monthly to complete a brief test of the equipment. Any faulty equipment uncovered by this test is scheduled to be repaired or replaced as soon as possible.
